      Globus Degradation on Files22

      Dear Globus Users, Please see the details below on the degradation of the Globus service when using files22.brown.edu.

      Issue: Performance degradation can be observed when using Globus Files22 Research/LRSResearch/Library endpoints or guest collections. All data transfers are impacted. Data transfers to/from Oscar via Globus are NOT impacted by the issue.

      OIT is aware of the performance degradation and is actively working to restore full service.

      Globus transfers to LRS are down

      The Globus endpoint on LRS.brown.edu are down. Any guest collection on "BrownU_GlobusMEP_LRS" will not work. Users will still be able to access their files through SMB.

      The Globus endpoint for files.brown.edu is currently unavailable. Users should still be able to mount their directories using SMB.

      Oscar endpoint BrownU_CCV_Oscar is currently unavailable, we are working to get this resolved as soon as possible.

      Oscar Globus Endpoint is inaccessible

      Due to issues with Oscar's filesystem, the Globus endpoint (BrownU_CCV_Oscar) for is unavailable. This should be resolved once Oscar is back online.

      Rest of the endpoints files.brown.edu, stronghold, lrs.brown.edu remain unaffected.

  • BrownU_CCV_Oscar Collection Outage

      BrownU_CCV_Oscar Collection Outage

      The Globus Oscar collection (BrownU_CCV_Oscar) is experiencing an outage:

      • Users may receive the “Directory Listing Timed Out” error when listing their Home, Data, and Scratch directories.
      • All the other collections (files.brown.edu, LRS, Google drives) remain unaffected.

      We are working to mitigate the issue and return this Globus collection to service.
